Finally things are looking up

Sorry for my last post. It was written where I was mentally down and felt dragged down by this whole ordeal. Since then a few things have happened that puts some light at the end of the tunnel and something tangibly to look forward to. To start, earlier last week my nephrologist called and we had spoken about getting me setup for some IV iron infusions. Up until now that has been a wash. I called and found out that BCH doesn't allow their assistants to enter in the orders and my actual nephrologist has to login to their portal and place the order. This means I should be receiving a call (or will call them tomorrow afternoon) to get setup for regular infusions. Hopefully this aids with the healing process. It would be great if it helped out with my energy issues (but in 2016, I noticed only a minor improvement from the ongoing CFS). Well there goes several weeks!

I really haven't found myself in the correct mindset to blog about my recovery recently, mainly because I had been focused on the recovery from this last surgery and simultaneously reflecting on the fact I'm starting over. There, I said it: I'm starting over. So in English this means... my previous fusion of my leg is considered "failed" due to the unchecked infection, but they won't own the mistake. Also, it is hard toeing the line for my new infectious disease provider to keep a "working relationship" with my old one. Why? Simple, professionalism and the fact she doesn't have practicing rights at that hospital, so she would use my old doctor to manage me when I am in the hospital. Sounds straight forward, right? Wrong. To make matters worse, Walgreens seems to be in the middle of a crisis, unable to keep enough pharmacists on hand to remain open, so they are closed on the weekends... Guess when my refills are due? Post Debridement Surgery and Drains

I woke up this morning to head down to Englewood to my PM specialist appointment. Unfortunately, I reported that while things have been generally going better on the increased regimen, only hours later I was about to be subjected to yet another surgery. After my appointment, I downed my pre-surgery Ensure... it was really gross. At any rate, I checked in for surgery early and as a result got a bed so I was a bit more comfortable prior to the surgery. Around 1:30PM things started to kick into gear. I met with my anesthesiologist, agreed to be put under general for the procedure, but interestingly, given the abbreviated procedure (wasn't going to be 3-5 hours) they told me they didn't need to put in a breathing tube and instead something would be inserted into my mouth to just keep my airway open from my tongue. She then asked how I was doing on pain. I hadn't taken anything for the 12 hours prior, so she was kind enough prior to surgery to get some meds into my system. I end...
